The World is Still Short of Everything. At DEKA we remain Resilient!

Pandemic-related product shortages from chips to any kind of materials, such as metal parts, plastics, optics, electronics and gases, were supposed to be resolved by the end of 2021. Instead, the world is still frozen in a surreal situation, while firms sail on blindly.

Delays, product shortages and rising costs continue to challenge businesses large and small. And customers are forced to experience situations which have rarely occurred in this and the last century: No stock available, and no idea when it will come in.

In the last months, many companies, including our competitors, have announced, , that they will slash their global production, limiting operations, despite a stronger and stronger demand.

The war in Ukraine has finally exacerbated tensions in the supply markets, and pushed real inflation to double-digit growth.

The supply chain disruption and the crisis in the energy markets are central elements of the extraordinary uncertainty that continues to infringe upon macro and micro economics aspects worldwide.

At DEKA we have been, and still are, fully resilient. I would lie if I told you that everything is on the right track, of course. However, putting together all our skills, experiences, competences and the traditional Italian flexibility and creativity, we succeeded in overcoming many of the issues which instead, could have blocked us and you in a fatal way. We have strenghthened the business and even increased our market share almost everywhere, increasing our production volumes, in full contrast to the global trends.

Naturally this has a cost. Being compelled to purchase tons of items, parts and raw materials from brokers, we have been facing speculations which are really incredible. I cannot hide from you that a portion of these extra costs shall be fairly shared with all of you guys, but the positive thing is that our global resilience is such to have, until now, defeated the full paralyzis of our main operations.

For this reason I’m so proud of our R&D and Engineering Departments, but also of our Purchasing Offices, together with our Quality and Regulatory staff.

Stay tuned. We have a bright future together, and, as usual, thanks, really thanks for your great support!
