In the toughest period of the lockdown, in spring 2020, during the calls we made with the Italy sales network, our biggest concern was to figure out a reason to contact doctors and to succeed, in such a fragile moment, to get an appointment at the reopening of medical offices.
We therefore tried to figure out solutions that would meet the problems of the moment, that is, to be able to invest in technologies that would expand the services and activities within the offices, without weighing immediately on their budget.
So we conceived a series of solutions and promotions (DekaBond, DeKavax, ChristmasBond during Christmastime) that would postpone the beginning of payments as much as possible over time (up to 12 months from system installation) with, in some cases, our economic contribution in terms of reimbursed leasing fees.
For DEKA it was an important effort but it made us feel supportive of our customers and gave them the opportunity to make productive investments for their business that otherwise in that difficult moment of uncertainty they would not have made.
The response to our solutions was excellent and allowed us to maintain the sales volumes of the previous year and to increase our market shares in Italy.
In the period immediately following the lockdown (May, June and July), the most highly sought systems were those for body treatments, usable right away as they were not affected by the “seasonality” typical of laser treatments, meaning Onda and Schwarzy. In the fall we presented the new AGAIN, our top-of-the-range for hair removal, an immediate success and which is still among the best-selling systems. The Punto system has maintained excellent performance, now the reference CO2 laser for Italian dermatologists. The vascular sector fell slightly as Luxea begins to show good sales results, currently the most complete platform on the market. The QSwitched market remains stable.”
Despite the fact that we reacted very well during this very difficult and delicate time, I hope the situation will return to normal as soon as possible.
