EL.EN. Sustainability Leader 2021

A recognition that rewards the company’s daily commitment to sustainability. El.En. was recognized among the “Sustainability Leaders 2021,” the special ranking that includes the best 450 Italian companies that take the most action in a correct way in the sector. The report is produced annually by Statista, international leader in data analysis and market trends, in collaboration with the newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore. Starting from a broad analysis initially involving 1,200 companies, we made it to a final list of the 450 companies recognized as the most virtuous in Italy. The ranking was determined by analyzing sustainability reports or similar documents, 2019 financial statements and 35 indicators related to the three dimensions of sustainability: environmental (waste, emissions, energy and water consumption), social (respect for diversity and equal opportunities, selection and fair treatment of employees, social projects), economic (economic data, disclosure, reporting, and transparency of results, with particular reference to governance, innovation, and financial stability). From the data provided, subject to judgment of suitability by the organizers, a final score was calculated: only the best candidates based on this index number were able to access the list, later published both on the website and in the newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore. “Sustainability Leader” is today one of the top indicators for assessing a company’s degree of attention to sustainability. And, precisely with regard to El.En., this recognition is a symbol of the company’s efforts in this direction, with the desire to implement more and more actions to increase certain themes thanks to daily activities leading to awards for “Sustainability Leader.”

Caterina Delibassis, El.En. Sustainability Manager, says: “Sustainability for the El.En. Group is of strategic interest, so that it is now integrated into the business model, oriented towards medium to long sustainable growth period. Being sustainable means creating value over time and being ready to successfully face the challenges of tomorrow: valuing people, protecting the environment, commitment to R&D to always improve product quality and value creation for all stakeholders represent the path that the Group has taken to be an innovative, sustainable and successful company. The El.En. Group has put into place a series of initiatives to ensure sustainability governance in compliance with the legislation.” Delibassis continues: “On social and environmental issues, the Group is committed to disseminating the issues within its organizations through training sessions both in the classroom and online. Sustainability questionnaires were completed by some stakeholders and ESG issues are also in the qualification checklist of suppliers, also to ensure a responsible supply chain beyond compliance with standards. Photovoltaic systems were installed to produce part of our energy needs, carboard compactors were purchased and, energy-efficient systems and LED lighting systems have been installed recently in new buildings and renovations in some branches to reduce CO2 emissions into the atmosphere.”
