Spotlight on: ANDREA BALDINI – SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER

My name is Andrea Baldini and I work in the Medical R&D department.
I started my career at the company in August 2000, preparing my degree dissertation under the guidance of the late Prof. Leonardo Masotti.
After six months of work I handed in my dissertation and I was hired by the El.En Group the following day!
My first small satisfaction, together with the fact that a few months later that very dissertation would have become a product: the Smarty A800.
During these 23 years of work at the El.En Group, many things have changed and I have faced, and am facing, many challenges, at a growing pace.
Also, many of my colleagues have shared this path: Some are still here, some other instead aren’t, due to a career conclusion or because they are observing us from above.
My professional path has developed itself entirely within the Medical R&D department, where I am currently covering the role of Senior Project Manager.
I mainly follow hair removal systems, but not only: During these years I have coordinated and contributed to several projects.
Among all of them, two are the ones which have given me a lot of satisfaction: The Synchro Replay, which has represented a generational jump within DEKA’s Hair Removal systems and has therefore required a major effort, both from a laser standpoint, with the development of a new-concept pumping chamber, and from an electronic perspective, with the development of a topologically new power supply, and with a power level never achieved before among our products.
It has been the forefather of a series of successful projects, which today sees in Again PRO the continuation of a successful tradition.
The second system is Triplex \ SLTII, a triple wavelength laser lipolysis system which has represented a very hard challenge from an optics and laser perspective, and which has kept me busy and under pressure for almost two years before reaching a stable and innovative solution.
However there have been many interesting and stimulating projects and, as I have said, there still are, with further challenges which entail new wavelengths, new ultrashort pulses and new application methodologies.
Certainly, 360o attention to innovation and care to the person is part of DEKA’s DNA, and they are values in which I and every person who works in R&D identify ourselves with.
